Is it More Cost Effective to Rent or Buy in Mesa County?
In another “Real Estate with Kate” segment with Kate Porras from RE/MAX 4000, she talks about whether or not it’s more cost effective to rent or buy in Mesa County.
Kate says, “I was listening to a story on National Public Radio the other day and they were talking about the Denver Metro area and how it’s actually more cost effective to rent a home there than it is to purchase one. A lot of that has to do with the fact that they’re building a lot of apartments in that area and the fact that their median home price is a lot higher than it is here in Grand Junction.
They also mentioned that there were only three places in the entire state of Colorado where it’s MORE cost effective to purchase a home than it is to rent!
Guess where one of them is?
Yup! Right here in Grand Junction, the Mesa County area.
We still have somewhat of a sellers market, in that inventory is relatively low compared to the numbers of buyers out there that are looking for a home. So, it might be a good time to list your home!
