BEFORE You Rake-Here’s the Things You Need to Know About the City of GJ Leaf Removal Program
Every year the City of Grand Junction provides leaf removal to eliminate excess leaf build-up along City streets that cause storm drains to clog.
These efforts help prevent flooding and reduce negative impacts affecting our water quality.
All leaves collected are then recycled into compost which is available at the Mesa County Landfill!
City of Grand Junction Leaf Removal Program-2018 begins mid-October and runs through mid-December
The City is divided into five different areas, with specific rake-out dates assigned to each, if you lost the postcard that was mailed out to you with your zones date on it you can find it here.
- To view the area map, Type in your address on the upper left corner in the “Search All Layers” field TO FIND OUT which LEAF PICK UP AREA you are in.
What To Do:
- Pile leaves on street 18” out from the curb or directly on the pavement if no curb and gutter. This helps keep leaves form blowing back onto sidewalks and into yards during collection.

- Leaves need to be in a pile in front of your house, by 7a the dates of your collection
What NOT To Do:
